Google Print

Google added a new service called Google Print. Very similar to Amazon’s search within books feature, Google now includes search results from select books (try this sample query). It allows access to matching pages of the book, as well as the two pages before and after. Of course, it also includes links to online bookstores that carry the book, including Amazon. Nice addition!

Laszlo

There appears to be some buzz about a technology called Laszlo right now. Laszlo is an XML-based scripting language that is compiled to Flash, and therefore provides a nice and easy way of writing Flash applications. Laszlo has just been made available as open source. Bought an Xbox

For various reasons, after using computers (and playing computer games) for 20 years now, I have finally decided to give in and buy a game console. Perhaps the main reason is that I’m fed up with the constant upgrades that are required in order to be able to enjoy the latest PC games. The console hardware only changes when a new version is released every 5 years or so, and in the mean time all games written for this console can be expected to perform well and take advantage of all the available features that the hardware offers....

IBM has published a series of articles that compare Eclipse to various other IDEs. The three articles are titled “Migrating to Eclipse…”, which makes it pretty clear that there is an obvious bias towards Eclipse.
