I came across a hilariously funny video on YouTube (via Laughing Squid): Star Trek Meets Monty Python. It’s a very well done mashup of clips from the original Star Trek series with the “Knights of the Round Table” song from Monty Python’s Holy Grail. Simply awesome! :)

If you’ve been as overwhelmed as myself with the amount of new, often indistinguishable social web applications that are going live every week, you might get a kick out of this hoax site: Useless Account Its only purpose is to allow you to create and edit an account (as you might in a social web app), nothing else. And heck, it’s officially “Slightly more useful than Twitter”, according to the fake TechCrunch quote (OK, they call it TechLunch) on the site....

Need a tax break? Go do some whale hunting...

While working on my taxes, I just came across this little gem in the IRS instructions for itemized deductions: Certain whaling captains may be able to claim a charitable deduction for whale hunting expenses. See Gifts to Charity on page A-6 for more details. WTF???
